Randy enjoys making contributions to science via software engineering, data analysis/visualization, and EOT (education, outreach, and training). He spent his early life in Illinois and worked in industry as a computer programmer after college. Graduate school drew him to Utah where he focused on computer graphics and computer-aided geometric design. After Utah, he spent two wonderful years living and working overseas (Oslo) as a software developer at (what became) SINTEF. Following some extended travel through Southeast Asia, he entered graduate school again to study computer science and mathematics at Arizona State University, and ended up focusing on dynamical systems. Since then he's had the pleasure of working at LANL, PNNL, NCSA, and Indiana University. In Dr. Paul Macklin's lab at IU, Randy leads development of PhysiCell and related technologies while applying them to critical projects in cancer and multicellular systems engineering.
