The mixing or dilution of liquid dispersion should have a low exposure potential for free nanoparticles, but mixing equipment may generate droplets of the dispersion which could be aeresolized by extreme agitation. With low levels of agitation, exposure to skin and eyes is possible, but the properties of the dispersion liquid are also a factor to consider. If the dispersion mixing operation is vigorous or if the materials are hazard of the nanomaterial is high or unknown, very conservative engineering controls should be employed to limit exposure to the nanomaterials.
