Accidental Spills and Releases

In cases of accidental spills or releases of nanomaterials, conservative controls should be used by responding workers to limit exposure and limit the number of workers exposed. Technologies should be employed to minimize the amount of nanomaterial emitted into the air. If the spilled material is in a liquid dispersion, controls should be used to limit dermal exposure, unless the nanomaterial is known to be low risk in this form.
